Child seats and family driving safety in India
Secure kids, set phone rules and plan night trips — safety beyond the driving test.
A licence proves minimum competence. Family driving asks for more: secured children, phone-free focus and realistic ETAs so you do not speed to “make up time.”
Use appropriate child restraints for age and weight. Adults should belt up every trip — modelling matters.
Plan night or monsoon trips with extra buffer. Fatigue causes as many errors as inexperience.
When parents learn together with teens, agree house rules early: no phones at the wheel, no overloaded cars, no casual drinking and driving — ever.
