What is the MSM rule in driving?
Mirror–Signal–Manoeuvre — the habit that keeps every turn and lane change safe.
The MSM rule stands for Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre. Check what is around you, tell others what you intend, then act only when the gap is safe.
Mirrors first: interior and exterior mirrors (often convex on the sides) widen your view. Remember objects may appear farther than they are — leave margin.
Signal clearly and early enough for others to react. Then complete the manoeuvre — turn, lane change, or pull over — without rushing the steering.
At iTurn, MSM is drilled from the first drive so it becomes automatic in Kerala traffic, not just something you remember for the RTO examiner.
